Music from Plants

Apparently this music is the sound of plant vibrations, transmitted by sensors attached to the leaves and roots. The technique was developed at a neo-pagan eco-commune in northern Italy called Damanhur. They make the astonishing claim that the plants “learn” to tune their electric signals to obtain melodies. (Note: music starts about 2.30 into the video)

Damanhur itself looks rather lovely in a slightly hilarious middle-class Italian hippy way. (Again, music starts about 2.30 into the video.)

It also has an amazing complex of underground temples.
